In my last sermon, I mentioned the phrase “being nudged by the Holy Spirit”. Let me share a few examples of what that may look like so that you can be on the lookout.

It can be a thought that invades your regular thinking.
It can be something you hear on the radio or television that stands out and sparks something in you.
It can be the voice of a friend.
It can be a sermon.
It can be a memory.

The list could go on, but you get the idea. The Holy Spirit speaks in any way and every way He can to get us to listen. In the above examples, it is those moments that you hear it, and you know somehow deep inside your spirit that God is trying to tell you something. That’s a NUDGE!

Once you get the nudge, then you begin the process of prayer and discernment to see what the nudge means. At times it is as simple as making a phone call. It can also be as complex as hearing a calling for your life or making a radical shift in who you are.

Either end of the spectrum can be God, but more importantly, it will always be good!

My hope this week is that you will watch for the nudges. I truly believe that they occur more regularly than we know. I can’t wait to see what the Holy Spirit is going to do by nudging you!
