Happy Thanksgiving week! Traffic is better, time off is wonderful, Christmas is upon us, and the weather
is starting to feel like Fall. All in all, a great time of year.

I am thankful this year for so many things. I have a beautiful family, people who love me, a Church
family that is amazing, and a God who shows up every day to remind me that I am treasured and loved.
I thought for this writing I would list some specific things that I am thankful for that may spark a note in
your life as well.

I am thankful that in my problems I have a God who is a Deliverer.
I am thankful that in my failures I have a God who is a Savior.
I am thankful that in my pain I have a God who is a Healer.
I am thankful that in my confusion I have a God who is a Counselor.
I am thankful that in my anxieties I have a God who is the Prince of Peace.
I am thankful that in my selfishness I have a God who calls me by His name.

You see, thankfulness is not only being grateful for what we have, it is also an act of worship to remind
us of whom we have and to whom we belong. As we practice gratitude and thankfulness we are
encouraged and empowered. The more our focus turns to God in our problems, failures, pain,
confusion, anxieties, and our selfishness, the more we focus on the answer rather than the problem.
I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you take time to allow for some praise and
worship during your celebration. It really does make a difference.
