Weekly Update
What a week our region of the world just went through. Hurricane Helene turned out to be a monster and did damage that boggles our minds. We are committed to continue to pray as rescue and relief workers and agencies move in and try to restore some semblance of order. If you are interested in helping, The Global Methodist have set up a page to give to the relief effort. You can find more information and donate here: https://ngagmc.org/disaster-relief/ Closer to home, I have been overwhelmed by the donations that have come in for our Manna Pantry. Once again Faith has shown its true heart and soul and loaded us up with groceries for those who are struggling in our community. I am so proud of our church and how wonderfully you all respond to hurting people. We will be back on track this week with Wednesday Nights at Faith. For the next five weeks we will be looking at the Bible and learning what it is and how we can better study it and use it in our lives. Wednesday Nights at Faith begins promptly at 6:00pm. In order to highlight what we are learning on Wednesday nights, our next series of sermons will be a Study of Power using the Book of Ephesians as our text. We will find true insights into the power God has given us and hopefully demonstrate some Bible Study techniques along the way. I hope that you will make all six weeks of this series. Also, this Sunday evening at 6:00pm we will be hosting a worship service for District 9 Global Methodist Churches. Venezuelan Bishop Carlos Pirona will be preaching, and our worship team will be leading the way. I hope that you will come out and support this moment and learn a bit more about all that is happening in the devastated country of Venezuela. Please continue to pray for those in our world, our region, our city, and our community who are hurting. Prayer makes all the difference! |
